Tri-County Playoffs Continue Versus Milton
The Milton Winterhawks came to Ancaster to face the Avalanche on Sunday.  It had been about 2 weeks since Milton had seen some real game action.   The layoff made it certain the Winter Hawks would be like a racehorse eager to leave the gate.

Marcus took advantage of a First Period Ancaster Power play with his 21st goal and a 1-0 Ancaster lead was on the board.   Following the first goal, Milton ran into some penalty trouble and Ancaster had a brief 5 on 3 advantage.  Shortly after the first Milton penalty expired Ancaster took a penalty.  The 4 on 4 hockey didn’t last long enough as Milton scored almost immediately upon gaining the man advantage.  The turn of events was a critical turn as the game would evolve.  A goal on the 5 on 3 would have given Ancaster a nice 2 goal cushion, but fate turned and the score was now tied.

Milton took a 2-1 lead again on the power play early in period 3 and the offensively challenged Avalanche were put in a tough spot of needing to come from behind.  Sean looked like a possible hero when he tied the game at 5:15 of the third.  The tie was short lived however as a failure to pin Milton deep resulted in Milton gaining a 3-2 lead just 25 seconds later.

Despite some chances by Joseph, Andrew, Eric and Kyle, Ancaster could not find the tying maker and Milton had a 3-2 victory.

The loss forces Ancaster to pull out a victory Sunday night in Milton.

Hard Hat – Caelen.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cat Athletic Trust (operating as the Hamilton Athletic Trust) is one of the two Trust established in perpetuity when the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Football Club passed into private. In the initial Agreement, money and securities were used to set-up the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Football Trust Fund that was devoted specifically to supporting amateur football interests in the community. The remaining surplus ($ 222,429.00 – roughly one half the total surplus) was relegated to a later creation in 1961 of the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Athletic Trust Fund. The Athletic Trust exists to serve a broad spectrum of amateur sports, other than football. Both Funds are administered independently, and both trusts are administered by separate board of trustees and exist independent of the football club. Since 1961, the capital sum of the Athletic Trust has grown seven-fold while serving 35-50 grant requests annually.
