Minor Bantam A's Capture Gold in Pittsburgh
The Minor Bantam A Avalanche won the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Cup Tournament the weekend of November 2-3.

GREAT TEAM EFFORT BY ALL!

It was great to see the team come together over a great weekend of hockey, fun and laughs and win the Gold Medals in the final game against the Southtown Stars.

The team had to overcome a rough start to in our opening game loss to the Southtown Stars. This loss created some high drama as we went on to win the following games to meet the Stars again in the final championship game. The last game was the very close match up between these competitive teams. The hockey was back and forth with Ancaster starting to apply relentless pressure on the Stars.

Emerson Court opened up the game with the first goal at the 6:04 mark of the second period. The second goal happened when Lucas Smith buried the puck off of a fantastic pass by Andrew Mutton to give the team a little breathing room at the 11:21 mark of the third period. The final minutes the team put the game into lock down, they worked hard not to allow a goal, and give goalie NICK GATTO a shutout and win player of the game.

Once again congratulations from coach John and staff to the boys for having a great successful weekend, also a big thanks for the parents who put in many hours to get the boys to these tournaments, games and practices this weekend and throughout the year!

Cheers and GO AVS!
