Ancaster Avalanche U16 Champions
The Ancaster Avalanche U16 Select team won the Richmond Hill Stars Select Tournament February 4-6, going undefeated in a 10 team age group that was loaded with talent.

Ancaster came out flying, beating the North York Knights 6-1 in the opening game. A tough battle against a solid Meadowvale Hawks team saw Ancaster come out with a 3-1 win in game two. The last game of the round robin portion was a thriller as Ancaster scored two goals in the final three and a half minutes to tie Oakville Anderson 2-2.

Ancaster came second in Pool A after narrowly losing a tiebreaker, and played Pool B champs Oakville Carter in the semi-finals. A huge effort from start to finish netted Ancaster a 5-1 win and a spot in the championship game against Oakville Anderson, the team they had tied just a day earlier.  An almost flawless performance from the team saw Ancaster come out on top this time 4-0 to take the crown.

Thank you to our trainer Amit Chauhan, Manager Andrew Hawryluk, Assistant Coach Tom Carson, and Head Coach Rod Monkman who had the boys well prepared and ready to go all weekend.
