Break Out Day for Av's Offense
The Atom AE Avalanche faced a familiar foe on Saturday afternoon when the Stoney Creek Warriors came to town.   Of Ancaster’s last 11 games, 5 had been versus Stoney Creek. This match up would be the second in the Tri-County Qualifier Round.

Ancaster found a motivated, hard working Warrior team waiting for them early.  The Avalanche was tentative on the forecheck early, either caused by nerves or the unusual start time.   The lack of aggressiveness resulted in a scoreless first period.

A reminder after period 1 put the Ancaster forecheck back in synch.  Andrew put Ancaster on the board with a nice power play goal from Sean.  Before period 2 was over, the Av’s had a healthy 4-0 lead on goals by Sean, Joe, Nate as well as the Andrew goal.  Joe’s game with .1 left in the period, creating some much needed positive Karma for Ancaster.

Ancaster kept the pedal to the metal in period 3; Nate took charge of the offense chipping in 2 more goals for his first hat trick.  Nate came into the game with 1 goal, what a breakout!  Also scoring were Marcus and Mark, both with their 20th of the season!  Aiden on the powerplay rounded out the scoring and the Avalanche had an offensive breakout, a 9-1 victory and a 2-0 Tri-County record.

Ancaster hopes to build off the win, when Milton comes to town on Sunday.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cat Athletic Trust (operating as the Hamilton Athletic Trust) is one of the two Trust established in perpetuity when the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Football Club passed into private. In the initial Agreement, money and securities were used to set-up the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Football Trust Fund that was devoted specifically to supporting amateur football interests in the community. The remaining surplus ($ 222,429.00 – roughly one half the total surplus) was relegated to a later creation in 1961 of the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Athletic Trust Fund. The Athletic Trust exists to serve a broad spectrum of amateur sports, other than football. Both Funds are administered independently, and both trusts are administered by separate board of trustees and exist independent of the football club. Since 1961, the capital sum of the Athletic Trust has grown seven-fold while serving 35-50 grant requests annually.
