Sabres Run Wild, 8-7
Coming off a tough loss last week to the Sharks,  the Sabres were fired up and ready heading into this week's matchup against the very talented Ancaster Wild.  The pucks flew as this game turned into an offensive slugfest, with a combined 15 goals.

The Wild jumped out to an early lead, finding the back of the Sabres net three times by 1:39 in the first period.  Thomas would answer fifteen seconds later on a solo breakaway, ending the Wild scoring streak and touching off a blistering Sabres scoring streak that would continue all through the second period.

Next, Kyle found Zachary across the ice and pocketed an assist as Zachary hammered the puck into the top corner.  Our stable of forwards created Maximum Offense with great play along the boards by Jack and Xavier, who kept our scoring chances alive with constant backchecking, chipping the puck up to their linemates and frustrating the Wild offensive attack.  Daniel and Cole battled hard on both ends, keeping the puck in the Wild end and pressing the attack.  Mark D'Agostino showed that he is a true offensive threat, with several rushes up the middle, only to be barely deflected in time by a frantic Wild defense.

Call them "Tenacious D":  The Sabres Defense crew showed true toughness throughout the second period against an extremely talented and deep Wild bench, who had goals scored by six separate players.  The Sabres blueliners really started to stretch their legs, with rock solid play in front of the net by Nathaniel, Nathan and Harry, who like nothing more than ruining an opponent's scoring drive with blocked shots and intercepted passes.   Kyle and Braeden continued to wreak havoc on both ends of the ice, with fierce forechecking that resulted in assists for both of them - Braeden's coming at the end of the second period.

In the third period, the Wild continued to attack, but the Sabres offense retaliated tit-for-tat with two goals, keeping their lead and relying on the rock-solid play of this week's goalie, Tobin who picked up the win to the great relief of his mother/agent.  Tobin and the Ancaster Sabres hung on as the clock wound down to zero and the Boys In Black mobbed their goalie to celebrate an 8-7 win.

Michael Kolovos was recognized with the award of the prestigious Ancaster Sabres Hardhat, which is awarded weekly to the game's hardest working player.  Michael's tireless two-way play caught the eye of his coaches - when he wasn't stick battling in the neutral zone or digging pucks out of the corners, he was pushing the puck up the boards, looking to set up scoring opportunities for his team.  Thanks for your hard work, Michael!

Congratulations to the Sabres on a tough win over a very talented opponent!
