Avalanche Rally But Fall to Elora
The team made the long mid week drive to Elora to battle the Centre Wellington Fusion on Wednesday.
The Fusion got off to a quick start scoring the opening goal just 4 minutes into the game and led 1-0 after the opening period. Two more quick goals by Centre Wellington had them up 3-0 and the game seemingly under control through two periods. Some stellar defensive play highlighted by multiple blocked shots by Ryan C. and Austin H. seemed to rally the team heading to the third period. An early goal by Campbell D. assisted by Ty C. and Connor J. narrowed the margin to two goals. On an Avalanche powerplay, one of many for both teams in the game, Dylan H. tipped in a shot by Aidan C. to get the Avs to within one goal with 3 minutes to play in the game. The Avalanche pressed hard in the final minutes of the game looking for the equalizer but came up empty. Final Score Ancaster 2 – Centre Wellington 3.
