Mon Oct 28 - The Avalanche hosted the Hespeler Shamrocks on Monday night and put in one of the team's best efforts of the season. Some lineup juggling seemed to spark the offence as Ty C. scored just 3 minutes into the game finishing off a fine individual rush by Connor K. who had made a nifty move on the defenceman to get in alone on the goalie. A seemingly innocent clearing play by Hespeler, while shorthanded from inside their own blueline, ended up in the Avalanche net after multiple players collided with Malcolm B. and the puck somehow found its way across the goaline, tying the game at 1-1 as the first period ended.
Sandro C. put the Avs ahead with a shorthanded goal with 7 minutes left in the third period. Noah D. was then robbed on a onetimer from Aidan C. that would have put the game away with 2 minutes left. A late penalty left the Avalanche facing a 6 on 4 situation but Ty C. scored his second of the night into an empty net to seal the victory.
