The Ancaster Avalanche Bantam AE team improved it’s
pre-season record to 2-0 with a 3-1 victory over the ’99 Spitfires at Lawfield
arena.
The Avalanche’s task in this game was to demonstrate strong team defence. This area of play was much improved with Ancaster limiting Hamilton to just 6 shots.
Matthew’s shot was a factor early. Mikey went hard to the net and took advantage of a rebound off of Matthew’s big shot for an early 1-0 Ancaster lead. Later in the period Matthew did the work himself, this time his shot finding the back of the net.
Hamilton took advantage of a powerplay early in period 2 and cut the Ancaster lead in half.
Ancaster continued it’s strong defensive effort and weren’t fazed by the tight score. Matthew netted his second of the game (third point) off a breakaway and Ancaster held on for a 3-1 victory.
