Well Rounded Effort
The Avalanche once again battled the Halton Hills Thunder on November 1st.  It was a

back and forth affair that produced multiple lead changes.
The Avalanche dominated the play in the first period and kept the Thunder pinned deep in the zone.  With more than 10 good scoring chances the Av's couldn't break the netminder, and with 3:14 left in the first period the Thunder capitalized on a bad bounce and buried their first chance to a take a 1-0 lead.
The second period was an end to end chase that resulted in multiple goals.  Misale opened the Av's scoring at 10:18 in the second, only to have the Thunder retaliate with one of their own 24 seconds later. Sousa equlized the score at 2 with an assist from Armenio at the 4:54 mark.  The Thunder again bounced back and took the lead just 30 seconds later.  Before the second period ended,  DiFederico gathered his own rebound and put it in the back of the net to tie the game at 3's.
Taking that momentum into the third period the assault on the Thunder continued, and Smith buried on a Power Play opportunity from Crechiolo and Armenio, and just 9 seconds later Difederico scored his 2nd of the game from Crechiolo and Gilmour to move the Av's ahead by 2 goals.  The Thunder showed great determination and managed a power play goal with 5:58 remaining and then with the Av's still a bit nervous about a 1 goal game the Thunder managed to tie the game at 5, just 37 seconds later.
The remainder of the game was played in the Thunder end of the ice with multiple great scoring chances and some impressive passing by the young Avalanche team.  The Av's couldn't break the tie in the end, but were satisfied with their full team effort.
