Friday Night Lights
The Hard work and Patience finally paid off Friday night for the Avalanche as they took it
to the Centre Wellington Fusion with an Avalanche of Goal scoring!
Four minutes into the game DiFederico scored a power play goal from Misale to get the Avalanche an early lead. 5 minutes later at 6:59 of the 1st period Bryant's well placed point shot was tipped in for DiFederico's second of the night. Later in the period while on the Power Play, White was able to keep the puck from being iced, then after breaking to the net he gathered his own rebound and scored an un-assisted beauty.
The second period was more evenly played, and Rix had to come up with some big saves to keep the Fusion from breaking onto the score sheet. The defence in front of him played exceptionally well keeping the rebounds clear and the players in front of the net well covered.
The third period saw more scoring action from the Av's as Nunn scored on a low wrist shot from a great Millar break out pass. Then (with possibly an extra attacker on the ice) and 6:44 to play in the third, Sousa banged in the Av's 5th goal. Eager to get in on the scoring, Smith took a great pass from Crechiolo in the corner and was able to slide one last goal in to the net capping off a 6 goal run for the Av's.
It was a well played team game for the Avalanche, start to finish and front to back!
