Avalanche Bounce Back
The Avalanche looked to stop their four game losing skid on Saturday night in front of a packed Morgan Firestone Arena.

It was the visiting Milton Winterhawks that scored early in the first period and put the pressure on the Avalanche to come from behind.  At the 5:40 mark in the first period, the Avalanche did just that; when Armenio scored the 1-1 equalizer.
The Avs carried the momentum from that goal and applied major pressure to the Winterhawks defence, keeping them hemmed in their end for the remainder of the first period.
The second period opened with the same pressure and intensity and the results paid off as White buried a great pass from DiFederico.  However, the Winterhawks battled back and tied the game at 2-2 with 9:22 remaining in the second period.  That goal charged up the Avalanche who responded with a  late second period goal as Millar setup up Armenio for his second of the game.
The 3-2 lead held until late in the third period.  On an end-to-end rush Millar showed great patience, split the defence, and deked the net minder, sliding home an unassisted goal.  34 seconds later, Armenio made a great pass to Zambon who fired home his first of the game, extending the lead to 5-2.   Then with just 11 seconds left to play Zambon buried his second on a great passing play from Greenhough and White.

Certainly an improved overall effort as the team heads into a short Christmas break and then heads to Brantford for the Wayne Gretzky Invitational.
