Team Focus - March and April
Good day everyone,
I thought I'd send this out as a quick summary of what to expect over the next two months...
The conversation in the dressing room with the kids is always about our two main goals:
1 - IMPROVE - we should be better at the end of the year/month/week than we were at the start
2 - COMPETE - never stop skating, work hard, push through to the end... regardless of score.
As you all know, we're closing in on the season's main event, which is our tournament in Barrie. The two sideline goals that we discussed at our last practice were preparing for the Barrie Tournament, and focusing on development as the kids prepare for rep tryouts this coming fall.
For the next few weeks I'll try to alternate between team practice and development with Traver. Once we get past the tournament and into April ice times, we'll likely begin to focus solely on development sessions and skating... as the kids get ready for tryouts. We will reach out to other select teams and try to schedule some games, but we don't have our April ice times yet... so have patience while we work through that with the AMHL.
We've enjoyed a very successful season so far, and the kids all seem to be excited to keep working hard. I look forward to the next 7 weeks with them.
