U11 KINGS!!!
Hi Everyone,
As most of you are likely aware, the kids have spoken... we are The Kings!
Thanks to everyone for the great effort in Game 1. Hopefully as we roll through the season things will roll smoother... it takes a while to wrap heads around face-off positioning, switching ends at the end of the periods etc... by playoff time, we should all be experts! On that same note, it also takes some time for the kids in the timekeepers booth to learn the clocks at various arenas... they don't all run the same, and can be tricky at times, so let's go easy on the timekeepers as they learn.
As we move through the season, your players will get an opportunity to play both forward and defense. As we get closer to Christmas, we'll have a better idea of where the players are most comfortable, and will likely solidify positioning at that time. In the meanwhile, the emphasis, as always, is on skills development and ensuring players get equal ice time (or as close to it as possible) for all games.
