Avalanche All Business on Friday Night!
It was apparent from the opening face off, Friday night, that the Ancaster Avalanche meant business on Friday night in Stoney Creek.

Mark drew a penalty off the opening draw, 4 seconds into the game that set the tone early.  While killing the penalty, Stoney Creek took a trip and were in early trouble.  Joseph M, playing maybe his best game of the year scored on the power play to send the Avalanche on their way.

Kyle gave Ancaster a 2-0 lead before the end of period 1 on a lob over the goalie.

The hard work continued into period 2.  Joe added his second of the game, followed 2 minutes later when Mark displayed great hands to wrap the puck around the Stoney Creek goalie for a 4-0 lead after 2.

The focus in the third period became special team play.  Coach Ed decided to uncage Jacob Se and Sean and let them create some offense, while giving Nate and Eric a refresher on defence.  Sean and Jacob made the opportunity count, scoring 3 of the 4 Ancaster 3rd period goals.  The 5th goal was a beauty on the power play set up by a combination of Caelen’s great break out pass and Sean’s setting up in perfect shooting position.  Way to make practice pay off.  Mark chipped in with his second on the night from Aiden and Caelen.  The assist was Caelen’s third of the game.

Of special note were Jacob Se, Kyle, Sean, Nate, Eric, Connor and Caelen all returning with an impressive +3 on the night!

The Avalanche’s road to the OMHA Quarter Finals faces another hurdle on Monday night when Orangeville comes to Ancaster.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cat Athletic Trust (operating as the Hamilton Athletic Trust) is one of the two Trust established in perpetuity when the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Football Club passed into private. In the initial Agreement, money and securities were used to set-up the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Football Trust Fund that was devoted specifically to supporting amateur football interests in the community. The remaining surplus ($ 222,429.00 – roughly one half the total surplus) was relegated to a later creation in 1961 of the Hamilton Tiger-Cat Athletic Trust Fund. The Athletic Trust exists to serve a broad spectrum of amateur sports, other than football. Both Funds are administered independently, and both trusts are administered by separate board of trustees and exist independent of the football club. Since 1961, the capital sum of the Athletic Trust has grown seven-fold while serving 35-50 grant requests annually.
