Major Peewee AE's Raise $1,885 for Charity
Submitted By AMHL on Friday, December 08, 2017
In the spirit of Christmas giving, The Major Peewee AE team coordinated a community Charity Bottle Drive on Saturday, December 2, 2017 and raised a total of $1,885 for MacKids & Mission Services.

With the help of parent volunteers, coaches & team manager, the players distributed flyers in advance and went door to door in four different neighborhoods in Ancaster to collect any bottles & cans.

All players were very humbled at the giving nature of their respective communities and were amazed to be able to collect a total of $1,885, in combination with an earlier “basket  of wine” fundraiser.  All funds collected will be given to MacKids & Mission Services.

While this was opportunity to give back to the community that’s been very supportive of this group in past years, it’s clear that the players were deeply touched by the response they received.  A big thank you to all Ancaster neighbourhoods canvassed!  A good life lesson indeed & here’s hoping that the players continue their volunteer work for years to come.
