2017 Annual General Meeting (AGM) is on June 14

The Annual General Meeting will be held on June 14 at the Rotary Centre (Morgan Firestone) starting at 6:30pm.

All parents with players registered with Ancaster Minor Hockey this past season (2016-2017) are invited to attend. 

We encourage all members to attend and provide your input and suggestions for improvement.

We would also encourage anyone that has thought about getting more involved in our league and its operations, to think about applying for election to a board position.

There are a number of positions that will be available for election at this year's AGM.  Each year, half of the board positions come available for election (odd and even years).

If you have ever contemplated getting involved, this is the time to do it!

Positions Up for Election in 2017

If you are interested in serving on the AMHL Board of Directors, please complete the application below and submit no later than May 24, 2017. AMHL bylaws require nomination forms to be submitted  a minimum of three (3) weeks prior to the AGM. Please sumbit your nomination form to [email protected]

As per section 9.1 of the AMHL ByLaws:
"A Nomination Form must be completed by all nominees and two (2) nominators who are Members of the League. Such completed form must be delivered to the Secretary a minimum of three (3) weeks prior to the election."

9.2 Board Positions

e) Director of Rep Hockey The Director of JUNIOR Rep Hockey shall: 

i) be responsible to the Board for the operations and conduct of the various AMHL Rep and Select teams FROM THE TYKE MD AGE GROUP UP TO THE MINOR PEEWEE AGE GROUP, INCLUSIVE . Assist rep and Select coaches with season planning, budgeting and any assistance they may require to run an effective Rep and Select rep program; 
ii) participate on the committee for the selection of the Rep Coaches; 
iii) assist the Director of Coach and Player Development to manage and facilitate an equal and unbiased Representative and Select team tryout process; 
iv) after the Rep tryouts, provide the names of signed players to the Board, and names of players released prior to August 31, OF THE CURRENT YEAR; 
v) work with the Registrar to assure that all Rep and Select teams FROM THE TYKE MD AGE GROUP UP TO THE MINOR PEEWEE AGE GROUP, INCLUSIVE are properly rostered under OMHA guidelines prior to the start of the season; 
vi) work with the Registrar to manage the process for NRP Passports, Offers of Commitment, Travel Permits, Affiliated Player forms and any other documentation that may be required to operate the Rep and Select programs FROM THE TYKE MD AGE GROUP UP TO THE MINOR PEEWEE AGE GROUP, INCLUSIVE; 
vii) work with the Treasurer to audit Rep and Select team budgets FROM THE TYKE MD AGE GROUP UP TO THE MINOR PEEWEE AGE GROUP, INCLUSIVE including the collection of Rep Fees and amounts owed to the league for the operation of a Rep and Select program; 
viii) be a member of the Disciplinary Committee set up to discipline any manager, coach or player guilty of violating the aims, objectives or rules of the Rep Program, AMHL, OMHA and City of Hamilton, including making sure each Rep and Select team has a code of conduct acknowledged by players and parents; 
ix) attend the course offered by Hamilton-Wentworth Police Services to monitor police checks for coaches; 
x) ensure that all required police checks (Consent for Disclosure Forms) are submitted for all coaches, assistant coaches, managers, trainers and on ice helpers associated with the Rep and Select programs; 
xi) attend all required Tri-County meetings and report back to the Board any and all changes of information pertinent to the running of the League; 
xii) ensure that OMHA and CHA OHF rulebooks are obtained and distributed to Rep and House League Directors FROM THE TYKE MD AGE GROUP UP TO THE MINOR PEEWEE AGE GROUP, INCLUSIVE for distribution to the appropriate coaches as well as all Directors; 
xiii) work with the Director of Ice Scheduling Rep Ice Scheduler to coordinate schedules and practices of the rep teams; 
xiv) work with the Director of Special Events to coordinate events; 
xv) work with the AMHL Head Trainer or Prevention Services Manager to assure the AMHL has a concussion management program; 
xvi) issue travel permits and NRP Passports; 
xvii) perform other duties as assigned by the Board.
