U13 Select win a second Gold in Jordan
The U13 Select Avalanche team participated in their second tournament of the 2023/24season, hosted by the Jordan Lions Minor Hockey Association.

The Avalanche would go 2-1 in round robin play, losing their game to the host Jordan Lions in a close knit 3-2 affair. This would be good enough for 3rd place in the overall standings at the end of the round robin, with Northumberland and Jordan in the respective 1 and 2 positions.

The semi-final saw a rematch between Jordan and Ancaster in what would become the 4th time this season that Ancaster would meet Jordan in an on-ice battle. It was the Avalanche's turn to show Jordan that they belonged in the final. After a physically draining game between the two teams, the Avalanche would prove to be the better team winning the game 3-2 and a shot at the title.

This would set up the championship between the Avalanche and the Oakville Rangers who stunned the Northumberland Nighthawks to meet the Avalanche in the final. This contest would prove to be a fast paced game against the speedy and talented Rangers. The Avalanche would take a 2-0 lead in the game, however there was no quit in the Rangers who would close the gap to 2-1. The Avalanche would add to their lead in the third period and go up 3-1 and find some breathing room, however not for long as the Rangers came within one goal yet again with about 4 minutes left in the third. It was a race to the finish line as the Rangers would pull their goaltender in a desperate attempt to tie the game. The Rangers came very close, however the Avalanche remained steadfast and were fortunate to seal the deal, and find the back of the net with an empty netter. Final score Avalanche 4 Rangers 2.

The Ancaster Avalanche are the 2024 U13 Select Dick Catterall Memorial Tournament CHAMPIONS !!  This is the team's 2nd Gold medal of the season ! Congrats Team !
