Christmas Hampers for ACS and Matthew House
Santa Claus came to town early this year when he paid a visit to the Ancaster Avalanche Major Pee Wee AE team. He got a chance to show the kids his superior skating and scoring skills during the last few minutes of their practice.

But the main reason for his visit was to collect toys and cards given by the players and their families.  The gifts will be part of Christmas Hampers which will be distributed to children in the area through two great agencies:  Ancaster Community Services (http://www.ancastercommunityservices.ca/ ) and St. Matthew’s House (http://stmatthewshouse.ca/) .

St. Matthew’s House
For nearly 5 decades, St. Matthew’s House has been providing holiday happiness to thousands of families in our community.  Thanks to generous support and donations from the community, the “Christmas Adopt-A-Family Program” provides new toys/gifts, holiday meals and other household goods to thousands of people in Hamilton each year.

Ancaster Community Services
Last year ACS helped 35 families, including 55 children from the Ancaster area.  Begun in the late 1990s, the demand for 2012 has already exceeded 2011 by 34%.

To learn more about how you can help contact St. Matthew’s House at 905-523-5546 or AncasterCommunity Services at 905-648-6675.
