Minor Novice Selects Capture Gold in Toronto
The Ancaster Minor Novice Select team upset the Don Mills Flyers in the championship game with a convincing 4-0 win on New Year’s Day in the Faustina Hockey Tournament held at the Master Card Centre, Toronto to Win GOLD!

Losing in game two 3-1 to the Flyers, Coach Jerry and the boys were determined to win in the finals, showed up to play and didn’t let the Flyers take control anytime during the game.

“The forwards pressured the puck, the defence dominated and our goaltenders were awesome. We knew what we had to do to win and the boys executed the plan perfectly” said Coach Jerry.

As a recently put together team of house league players it is a testament to Ancaster Minor Hockey’s new Novice Development Program as the majority of the players are involved with the program and it showed in this first tournament. With only one prior game and two practices together the boys did fantastic and should be proud of their efforts.
