The team will play on Morgan A (the older, larger ice pad) and will take over Dressing Room 6 and the nearby offices.

The team will almost certainly be known as the Ancaster Avalanche, matching the name of our rep teams.

The president of the Ancaster Minor Hockey League says his association is fully behind the move for a number of reasons. One of the big ones is that the opportunity to maybe play for the big Avalanche will provide players a tangible goal to reach for as they’re moving through the system.

“We think this is a great opportunity for our league and the town,” says Jack DiSalvia, president of the Ancaster Minor Hockey League.

He says there will be some impact on ice times, but nothing too significant.
