Major Midget AA's Win Silver in Stoney Creek
Submitted By AMHL on Monday, November 14, 2016
The Major Midget AA's won the silver medal in the Stoney Creek Tournament of Champions held November 11-13.

The Avalanche started slowly in the 12 team tournament losing to Caledon 6-0 and to the Toronto Aeros 4-1 in their round-robin games. They turned things around by beating Stoney Creek 4-0 in an elimination game to advance to the quarter-finals where they won 2-1 in overtime against the Duffield Devils (North York).

In the semi's, the Avalanche played the Markham Waxers, currently the first place team in the York-Simcoe Major Midget AA division. Ancaster fell behind 2-0 but then stormed back to tie the game in regulation and then won in overtime by a final score of 3-2.

The Avalanche faced a strong Caledon Hawks team in the finals. The game was scoreless going into the 3rd period but Caledon prevailed by a final score of 3-0.

Congratulations to the Avalanche on a great tournament.
