Ancaster Hockey Loves Its Goalies!

Whether it's the diving saves, the fun equipment, or the charismatic and sometimes quirky personalities, the hockey goalie is often the fan favourite.

At Ancaster Minor Hockey we love our goalies and are always looking for ways to show our appreciation.

New for 2024-25 — Reduced Goalie Fees!!

To show our appreciation for our amazing goalies, we are excited to announce that goalie fees have been discounted to $300 for the 2024-25 season.

If you have already registered at the full price, someone will be reaching out to you soon with details on refunding you the difference.

Note that this only applies to age groups U11 to U18.

Getting Started as a Goalie

Ancaster Minor Hockey has goalie equipment available to borrow for kids aged 6 to 12. The majority of the equipment has been updated recently to ensure kids have a great experience if they choose to take a turn or two in net.

Most age groups will have kids take turns playing goalie to give everyone a chance to give it a try. At the U11 age group is when we typically see kids start to decide that they wish to play goalie full-time. By the u13 age group and older, all of the goalies play the position full-time.

Tuesday Skills & Drills Development Program

Registration for our Tuesday Night Skills & Drills Development program opened recently for skaters.

If you are a goalie who would like to participate in these Skills & Drills sessions, please contact the Director of Coach and Player Development to express your interest.

Goalies will be able to participate in these sessions for free and will be contacted directly by Mak’s Hockey Academy on a rotating basis to participate as needed.

Please note that these sessions are only open to kids registered for Ancaster Minor Hockey.
