Flamborough Bounces Back to Surprise Avalanche
Ancaster - Tuesday October 16
The Avalanche played a great game and unfortunately lost a hard fought battle to Flamborough Sabres 6-5. The Avalanche went into the 2nd period with a 2 - 0 lead which had the fans sitting real pretty. Flamborough kept chipping away and never gave up. The game was highlighted by a great performance by our" birthday boy" Joe Borgacci , who had numerous shots on the opponents goal tender. Joe's family supplied birthday cupcakes after the game which seemed to take the bite out of a tough loss for the boys.
The Avalanche sent at least 35 shots toward the Flamborough goalie, who seemed to act like a sponge and devour the puck whenever he could. Also, 2 of the new " kids on the block" Alex Roberts and Spencer Mihalis played very well and have proven to be a great addition to our team. Lot's of excitement at the end of the game when Ancaster pulled their goalie and almost tied the game. The boys certainly learned the motto "never give up" after this game.
The Avalanche roll into Brampton this Saturday which has proven to be a great rivalry. See you at the rink !!
