Avalanche Bang Up Battalion
Brampton - October 20, 2012 - Ancaster Avalanche Major Atom AA brought their A Game to Brampton this afternoon.
Despite having a few empty stomachs on the bench on Saturday afternoon in Brampton, the Ancaster Avalanche were flying high on adrenalin and showed the Brampton Battalion who the boss was with a convincing 5 - 0 victory. After having a tough outing against Flamborough earlier in the week, the Avalanche showed what they can do when they put their minds to it and play solid hockey for a full 35 minutes. Complete with a very fast start, where Matthew Misale rung one off the post in the first 30 seconds, the Avalanche never looked back and threw an onslaught of shots towards the Brampton net.
With a career game this year , new comer Spencer Mihalis netted 4 goals and pounded the Brampton keeper into submission. With his linemates Clark Bellamy and Liam Mosher, this dynamic line lit up the score board all game. Eric Johnson capped off another fine performance to round out the scoring. Kyle Mandryk played very well for Ancaster, earning his second shutout in a row in the cage, batting away several chances in the final few minutes of the game.
Defensively the Avalanche cleared away several loose pucks and gave Brampton little opportunity to get anything going through the whole contest. The crowd went wild late in the 3rd, when as a group your boys in maroon fought off a 2 man deficit for two minutes to keep the goose egg in tact.
