Attempting to win the Kitchener Early Bird tournament for the third straight year was going to be a challenge. Then adding to that challenge the need to play in the upper 'A' division. This would display the true resilience of this Ancaster AE team.
Losing to both the Milton A and Cambridge A/AA teams while disappointing, proved we are ready for the tough competition and we belonged in the tournament. The true measure of this team was shown with a strong win against the Brampton 45's A team, followed by another decisive win against the Burlington Cougars A team.
The final championship game for Tier 2 was set for a rematch with Brampton 45's A team. Though some tough on ice calls, this team never gave up and persevered to take the trophy for the 3rd year in a row, with a 4 to 3 win.
