Strong Performance Carries Avs to Semis in Powerplay Tournament, News, Major Atom, 2017-2018, A (Ancaster Minor Hockey)

A strong round-robin performance in Guelph over the weekend led to a semi-final appearance on Sunday.

Two back-to-back wins on Friday against the Humber Valley Sharks (3-0) and Southpoint Capitals (3-1) raised spirits after a rough patch during regular-season play.  Despite a 1-1 tie against the Cambridge Hawks and a 1-0 loss to Erin-Hillsburgh on Saturday, the boys finished round-robin action in second place.  In semi-final action on Sunday morning the boys met TORnament rivals the Cambridge Hawks again, and despite an admirable performance, lost 2-1.  Congratulations on the hard work, boys!  We'll get 'em next year.
