OMHA Avalanche Action
After an OHMA Playdown first game loss to Milton, the Avalanche came ready to play Saturday afternoon against the Burlington Eagles.
The Av's had been punished before Christmas by Burlington with a devastating loss and weren't about to let that happen again. Led by their newly appointed Captain Johnny G.
the young squad hit the ice ready to battle for every puck.
Down 1-0 after the first shift of the game the Av's shook it off and battled right back to tie the game at 1. The Eagle attack kept coming and Logan faced some difficult shots. The Eagles scored 2 more that were again answered with spectacular Avalanche rushes.
Captain Johnny G. led the way with a hat-trick, Cole and Teddy both contributed goals and the defence worked hard to keep the "friendly giant's stick" off the ice out front of the net.
Regardless of the outcome, the coaches couldn't have been more proud of the effort and intensity that each and every player put out today.
If we can maintain the intensity, play our positions and battle hard for the puck....the Av's will be a threat to whomever we play.
