Midget AA's Run for Cancer

The 2011-2012 Ancaster Avalanche AA Midget team participated in Wellwood’s 13th annual 1K/5K/10K Walk/Run for Colorectal Cancer Awareness on October 16, 2011 at McMaster University.

The team’s Assistant Captain Jonathan Rynne, age 15 (back row/far left,) blew past the competition, and his team mates, to be the overall winner of the 5K. Fast on his feet as well as his skates!!

The race is held every October on campus. More than 400 people participated in the event this year.

Wellwood is a local charity that helps people to live well with cancer. There are two sites in Hamilton – one at the Juravinski Hospital and the other, in the community, on the grounds of Chedoke.

All of Wellwood’s programs are free of charge to everyone who is affected by cancer, including those who have had a diagnosis, their family, friends, caregivers and health care providers.
