About Tyke
Tyke (6 year olds) is the third level of our full Initiation Program for all children looking to learn the game and have fun. From 4 years of age, our players can come out and learn to skate and learn this great game in a fun, encouraging environment.

Tyke Program (6 Years of Age)

As our kids start to get the hang of their skating and movement on the ice, we continue their development with our Tyke program. Again, teams are formed with a full coaching staff, and our kids are on the ice for 2 hours each week of a 20 week season, with a practice on Friday evenings (5:30 pm or 6:30 pm) and game on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.

Practice and Games are at Morgan Firestone. This year the entire season will be played on a half-ice surface, as mandated by Hockey Canada, helping our kids to actively participate and master their hockey skills.

For the 2017/2018 season, we have again secured additional practice time – allowing kids to stay on the ice for a fully guided development practice after their Sunday game for an additional hour!

For the 2017/2018 season, we are happy to welcome Leo Paone to the AMHL, offering on-ice support to both our players and coaches to help deliver a highly successful development experience.

If you have questions about this program, please contact our Director, Initiation Program –Nick Montecchia at [email protected].
