CHIPs, 2018-2019 (Ancaster Minor Hockey)

We are very pleased to announce Brian Gibson (Head Coach) and Steve Maikawa (Assistant Coach) as coaches for next years’ Novice MD team.  This team will compete as a standalone group (not part of the house league program) and will begin the season playing on a half-ice surface as mandated by Hockey Canada. 

Over the past 7-8 years, Ancaster Minor Hockey has been able to streamline our operations – resulting in far less waste, less unused ice in our arenas, and an accumulating surplus of funds in our reserves.

AMHL is offering an hour of development time for 5 weeks to AMHL registered House League Players – Chips through Tyke age groups following the end of the season starting  Mar.19th. The cost of the program is only $100 for 5 hours of instruction ($20 per hourly session).  A second session has been added.

With the new half ice structure for our 7 and 8 year olds fully implemented for next season (Hockey Canada Mandate), we are pleased to be planning a “full time” Novice MD/Select (2011 birth dates) for the upcoming season.  As per Hockey Canada guidelines, this team will be selected in the Fall of 2019 and operate a development / semi competitive program outside of the regular House League programming.  The first half season will continue as a half-ice development program, with our team moving to Full Ice after the Christmas Break.  Coaching applications for this team will be opened on March 1 ...
