Atom Selects get a Wake Up Call from Hamilton Mountain
After cruising through November with a 3 game undefeated streak, the Ancaster Atom Select team got a rude awakening when the Hamilton Mountain squad came to town.
Through the first two periods, the Avs did not register a single shot on net. Our goaltending duo however, stood on their heads, stopping a barrage of shots from the opposition, with many goals coming off of rebounds or scrums around the net.
In the third period, the Ancaster Coaching staff shuffled the lines, and found a formula that worked. The team was able to pull it together, and outshoot their opponents, but were not able to find the back of the net against a strong performance from the Hamilton goaltender.
Notables from the game included a great performance from Andrew Mutton, with a non-stop end to end performance.
The Avs have two more games slated for December against Lawfield and Kitchener before they head off to the Chedoke Tournament. We're hoping to keep the momentum from the 3rd period going, in what will prove to be a tough month against some strong opposition.
