SHARK Bites - November 29, 2012
Tough one last week-end.
If you looked at the score (5-0), it would appear we got "spanked". It was a funny game though, we controlled the play in 1st period, but weren't able to take advantage of some scoring opportunities. I think a couple bounces early in our favour, would have changed the outlook of the game.
Unfortunately, we left Lucas, without much support in the 2nd & 3rd period. I think they had 3 break-away goals, and a few others that didn't go in.
Positional play is largely the trouble we are facing. If you look back over the last few games, we are giving up too many break aways & odd man rushes.You will notice the boy's are "bunching up" along the boards in the neutral zone. It makes us prone defensively, when the puck squirts out. I think this is relatively easily corrected. You will see me start to talk to the kids about this both individually & to the team as whole going forward.
Practice: this week is at noon, Spring Valley
Game: is at 9:00 (Morgan A) on Sunday, please let me know if you will be un-able to attend.
Goalie this week: Thomas (still searching for a Nick Name) Domangue
Mr. Big's: congratulations to Owen Mansfield (still searching for a Nick Name) & Thomas who both stood out, for being "aggressive on the puck" last week. They will wear the "A"'s.
Captain: this week is William Saul (still searching for a Nick Name).
Snacks: the Sheppard family.
