SHARK BITES - December 17, 2012
Weird one.

For the most part I thought we controlled the play of the game last week. We had our opportunities to score, unfortunately couldn't find the back of the net.

Anyone who is a fan of Don Cherry, may have heard him talk about the "2 goal lead", being the most dangerous in hockey. The idea being the team with the lead, gets a little over confident. If the trailing team narrows the score, you start to see tentativeness creep into to the play of the team with the lead. All of a sudden your "on your heels", not attacking the puck. You tend to see positional play deteriorate as well. Anyone who has ever played the game, will be able to relate. It happens, I could of sense it happening on the bench. The problem is the very little you can do, to stop it from happening. Please don't be alarmed. I continue to be impressed with the boys development & work ethic. We have a great team, I am really looking forward to the Play-Off's

Lucas (Butch) Smith was the best of the bunch on offense, with a "gritty" two goal performance. He will be wearing the "A", this week after his "MR. BIG" performance.

Spectacular, would be the description I would use, for Aiden (Taz) Wrights debut in net. Unfortunately, he was left alone to defend the net, far to too often. Aiden will also have the "A" on this week, for his "MR.BIG" performance.

Cole (Chewy) Smith will be wearing the "C" this week-end.

Goalie is Myles (still searching for a NN) Mansfield, who is very excited. Mom has been "pelting" him with slap shots all week, in preparation for the week-end.

Snacks: the O'Connor family.

Practice is early, 7:00 am @ Spring Valley. Sunday game vs. the Sabres @ Morgan A, 10:00.

Looking forward to another fun week-end at the rink. If you are unable to attend either the game or practice
