Minor Atom AE Win Home Opener
After a weekend of challenging games in St. Catharines, the team returned home to Morgan Firestone to open the regular season. To their credit the boys showed no ill effects from an exhausting day of hockey on Saturday.
The Avalanche got rolling early with Sandro C. opening the scoring just 3 minutes into the game. Goals from Michael A. and Aidan C. made the score 3-0 after 2 periods. The players never let up in the third, showing great determination and hustle in defeating the Warriors 10-1 for their first victory of the season. Eight different players scored on the night with a pair of goals from both Ty C. and Dylan H. A solid effort was put in by the defense corps in front of Ryan O. who held down the fort and made some key saves.The season continues on Wednesday as the Avalanche travel to Georgetown to take on the Halton Hills Thunder.
