The Flyers took on a hot team in the Lightning this past weekend and came up short in the loss. The boys played a hard game and we saw even scoring from all the different lines. Congrats to Thomas L, Finn W, Liam W and Daniel P on their goals.
Another strong game from our goalie Matthew Y this week. He took 40+ shots and kept us close with his hot glove and blocker saves.
Positional play will now start to be included in a few of our weekly drills as the focus on going to the front of the net (forwards) or covering the front of the net (defense) will be coached. It's a critical part of the player development as they learn the game. It will take some time to refine the drills for the team, but the coaches are committed to making it work.
***The 5000 puck challenge continues for the next 8 weeks. While some players are ahead of others, the coaches want to see all kids continue to pursue the 5000 mark and not stop now.***
